Dr. Captaine J. Lumenello (they / them) is a Classical Chinese Medicine practitioner, Qigong and Feng Shui Master, both nationally board-certified and licensed to practice Acupuncture since 2005. With a Doctor of Acupuncture focused in Integrative Medicine, Dr. C specializes in PTSD / trauma recovery and severe emotional stress, which includes chronic pain, digestive and autoimmune concerns, oncology, and LGBTQ+ community care. By integrating western and eastern medicine concepts, their 'whole life' holistic healing approach encourages long-term wellness.
Dr. C works one-on-one with clients in-person and online, lectures on Chinese Medicine nationwide, and is a published author-illustrator. Their groundbreaking textbook Gender & Sexuality in Chinese Medicine presents a contemporary and empowered perspective on a topic vital to everyone's health. They are also a contributing author to Ethics for Acupuncturists, and serve on the board of the Vermont Acupuncture Association (2020 - present).
Outside the office Captaine enjoys laughing with their daughter, snuggling with the family Doberman, sewing, a good hammock, ecstatic dance, the meditation of swimming, and motorcycling Vermont's twisty roads as often as weather permits.
